Founded in 2015 by culinary enthusiasts John and Maria Thompson, Funnel Bistro has become a cherished gathering place in the heart of downtown. With a mission to create a welcoming environment, we invite everyone to experience our passion for food and community. Our journey began with a simple idea: to offer dishes made from locally sourced ingredients that reflect the rich culinary traditions of our region.
Each dish tells a story inspired by our travels and the diverse cultures we've embraced. For example, our signature dish, the “Harvest Bowl,” features seasonal vegetables from local farms, a blend of quinoa, and our homemade lemon-tahini dressing, bringing a taste of freshness to your plate.
Community Focus
At Funnel Bistro, we believe in the power of community. We actively participate in local events and collaborate with neighborhood organizations. This year alone, we've hosted over 10 charity events, raising more than $5,000 for local schools and food banks. Our commitment to giving back is not just a mission; it’s part of our everyday operations.
Every Wednesday, we offer “Community Night,” where a portion of our sales goes directly to local charities. It’s our way of saying thank you to the community that has embraced us. We cherish the relationships we've built and look forward to many more years of partnership and support.
Who we are
John Thompson
Co-founder and Head Chef, John brings over 15 years of culinary experience. His passion for farm-to-table dining is evident in every dish. John is dedicated to ensuring that each ingredient is fresh and locally sourced, working closely with farmers in the area.
Maria Thompson
As the co-founder and operations manager, Maria ensures that every guest feels at home. Her warm personality and attention to detail have earned Funnel Bistro numerous local awards, including “Best Service” by the Downtown Association.
Emily Rodriguez
Our head pastry chef, Emily, is renowned for her delectable desserts. With a background in fine dining, she crafts each dessert with creativity and flair, making Funnel Bistro a destination for sweet lovers.
